I love spring!
Nice birds chirping in the breeze.
Green grass growing on the ground.

Here is a acrostic poem about forests

Forests

Forests are everywhere giving us oxygen.
Oh, trees are so beautiful in the fall.
Roaring winds shake the leaves in the trees.
Eagles soaring high in the sky!
So many wild animals live here!
Tall trees everywhere!

Button Cookies

Button Cookies

Button Cookies
In a fairy's world, buttons are used for all sorts of things, such as tabletops, pot lids, dishes, trail markers ... the list goes on. Here's a fun treat that celebrates the versatility of this nifty notion -- a colorful batch of button cookies.

What you'll need

  • Batch of sugar cookie dough (homemade or store bought)
  • Food coloring
  • Plastic kitchen gloves (for kneading food coloring into the dough)
  • Rolling pin
  • Flour
  • Wax paper
  • Small round cookie or fondant cutters (about 2 1/4 inches wide)
  • Small bottle cap (slightly smaller than the fondant cutter)
  • Wooden kitchen skewer
  • Spatula
  • Baking sheet
  • Wire rack

How to make it

  1. Divide the dough into thirds or quarters. Then knead a different shade of food coloring into each portion of dough. Chill the dough so that it will be stiff enough to hold its shape while baking.
  2. When you're ready to start baking, work with one color of dough at a time. Roll the dough out to about a 1/4-inch thickness and use the cookie or fondant cutter to cut out a bunch of small circles. If you like, use a small bottle cap to gently imprint an inner circle on some or all of the buttons.
  3. Use the blunt end of the kitchen skewer to make a set of two or four buttonholes in the center of each cookie.
  4. Place the cookies on a baking sheet and bake them according to the recipe directions. Transfer the baked cookies to a wire rack to cool before serving. Enjoy!

Tinker Bell's Fairy Wings

Here is a fliterific recipe!
Tinker Bell's Fairy Wings
Tinker Bell's Fairy Wings Cake

What you'll need

  • Template for Tinker Bell Wings Cake
  • White or yellow cake baked in 9- by 13-inch pan
  • Frosting (white for the cake top and green for the sides)*
  • Green sugar pearls (found in the baking aisle of the grocery or craft store) or other small green candies
  • Icing roses or other flowers (found in the baking aisle of the grocery or craft store)
  • Green decorating icing with leaf tip (optional)
  • * Note: Homemade frosting or decorating frosting works best for this cake. Most readymade creamy varieties will not harden and therefore aren't effective in sealing in the crumbs along the cut edges of the cake. If you prefer readymade frosting, you can t
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Spatula or knife for frosting the cake
  • Kitchen knife

How to make it

  1. Using the serrated kitchen knife (a bread knife works well for this), level the cake by carefully slicing off the domed portion of the top. Then place the cake, cut side down, onto a wax paper-covered piece of cardboard.
  2. Print the template. Cut out the pieces and tape them together, as shown, so that they overlap just slightly. Place the completed template atop the cake and use a kitchen knife to cut through the cake along the paper edge, as shown.
  3. Spread an initial coat of frosting, just thick enough to seal in the crumbs, on the two assembled cake pieces. Chill the cake for 30 minutes to harden the frosting.
  4. Carefully lift the wax paper on both sides of the cake and transfer it to a cake board or large serving tray. With the wax paper still in place, spread on a second coat of frosting and smooth the surface with your spatula. Use a damp paper towel to carefully wipe any excess frosting and crumbs from the wax paper around the perimeter of the cake. Then you can trim the paper close to the cake edge, if you like.
  5. Now you can decorate the cake top with icing roses, piped-on leaves, and pretty sugar pearl swirls.

Halloween Crafts

Witches hats

This bewitching witch's hat makes a great table decoration for your Halloween party.

What you'll need

  • 2 sheets of black construction paper
  • 1 sheet felt (green, orange, purple, or red)
  • Strip of black felt
  • White craft glue
  • Scissors
  • Tape
Buy construction paper at the dollar store for plenty of fun projects. Felt is inexpensive so stock up on 5 or 6 sheets each time you go to the store. Traditional Halloween colors include black, orange, purple, red and green. However, you can use whatever colors you like for this project!

How to make it

  1. Roll 1 sheet of black paper into a cone. Secure with tape.
  2. Trim the bottom of the cone so that it will stand up on the table.
  3. Use a cup or jar as a guide and cut out a circle from black paper large enough for the hat brim.
  4. Glue the cone to the circle and set aside to dry.
  5. Cut ¼” or ½” strips of felt and glue them around the cone.
  6. Cut a strip of black felt to go around the base of the cone.
  7. If you like, cut a bat out of black felt and glue to your hat.

Thanksgiving crafts

Do you want to know a craft for thanks giving??? Well here you go!

Turkey Fridge Magnet

You’ll be amazed at just how easy these cute turkeys are to make. If you prefer to skip the painting steps, be sure to check out the helpful tips at the end for simple substitutions.

What you'll need

  • 3” wooden heart
  • 1” wooden heart
  • 1 ½” wooden football or oval
  • 8-10 colorful feathers (red, brown, orange, yellow)
  • 2 miniature craft sticks
  • Acrylic craft paint: brown, red, yellow, white, black, orange
  • Sponge applicator
  • Small paint brush
  • White craft glue
  • Wax paper
  • 2 magnets of medium weight

How to make it

  1. Paint the 3” wooden heart and the wooden football brown.
  2. Paint the 1” wooden heart red.
  3. Paint the 2 miniature craft sticks orange. Let all painted surfaces dry completely.
  4. Place brown heart on work surface so that the pointed end is at the top. Glue the red heart onto the brown heart. The red heart should also be upside down, point facing upward, and should overlap the tip of the brown heart a little.
  5. Glue the brown football (head) on top of the red heart, allowing the bumps of the heart to show underneath the football (chin).
  6. Position the orange craft sticks underneath the brown wooden heart and glue in place for the legs.
  7. Place turkey on to a piece of wax paper. Arrange feathers behind the “turkey” to make its tail. When you have them where you want them, glue them in place and let dry. The wax paper will keep the glue for the feathers from sticking to the table.
  8. While feathers are drying, dip the handle end of the sponge applicator in to the white paint. Dot on eyes. Repeat this process with the handle end of the paint brush and black paint, adding the pupils.
  9. Use the paint brush and yellow paint to add a triangular beak.
  10. Allow everything to dry completely, then glue magnets to the back and let dry.

I hope you like it!!!

Faries

If you just love faries, like I do, then you'll enjoy these crafts!!!

*Silvermist's Dewdrop Braclets*

It will take you 30 minutes or less to make this craft.

What you'll need

  • Clear plastic beads
  • Jewelry eye pins (look in the bead aisle of the craft store)
  • Clear faux gems
  • Hot glue gun or glue dots
  • Beading elastic

How to make it

  1. For each bracelet, first make the dewdrop. Thread a bead onto an eye pin. Then bend the pin stem to form a U-shape and use glue or glue dots to attach it to the back of a faux gem.
  2. Top the first gem with another gem, sandwiching the pin stem between them.
  3. Thread beads and the gem dewdrop onto a length of beading elastic until you have a bracelet that's the right size to fit around a child's wrist. Then tie the elastic ends together with an overhand knot, and apply a drop of glue to hold it if necessary. Trim the elastic ends about an inch from the knot and thread them back through the adjacent beads.
Being a water fairy, Silvermist is adept at putting dewdrops on spider webs. But, despite her best efforts, she just couldn't seem to help Tinker Bell get the knack of it. Luckily, these sparkly bracelets are a cinch for novice fairies to string, especially if you make the faux gem dewdrops beforehand. Guests can wear their bracelets during the party and then take them home as favors

Haunted Fairy Cottage

Haunted Fairy Cottage

What you'll need

  • Foam craft pumpkin (sold in craft stores during Halloween season)
  • Pencil
  • Lightweight scrapbook paper (yellow for the window panes, white for the ghosts, and other colors of your choosing for the window trim, door, and door hinges and latch)
  • Mod Podge (water base sealer)
  • Paintbrush or small foam brush
  • Silk leaves and/or ferns (sold in craft and department stores)
  • Glue dots
  • Thin flexible craft wire
  • Black permanent marker
  • Small stick
  • Stones and floral moss (optional)

How to make it

  1. Set the pumpkin on its side and lightly pencil the outline of a circular door around the stem (make the line about 1 1/4 inch from the outer edge of the stem). Cut a bunch of 1 1/2-inch squares from the scrapbook paper you've chosen for the door. Trim the squares so the bottoms are slightly convex and the tops concave, and taper the sides a bit, as shown. Use the Mod Podge to glue the trimmed squares onto the pumpkin around the stem, overlapping them a bit. Cut out a pair of small paper hinges and a latch and glue them in place. Then seal the finished door with a light coat of Mod Podge.
  2. For each window, cut out a 2 1/2-inch square of yellow scrapbook paper and then round the top. Cut a matching shape from the window trim paper, and then cut it into the pieces shown.
  3. Save the horizontal strip and the arch and discard the remaining piece. Next, cut a pair of 1/4-inch trim strips from another piece of window trim paper and glue them onto the window, as shown, before attaching the two reserved trim pieces.
  4. One at a time, coat the back of each window with Mod Podge and then press it firmly onto the pumpkin to the side of the door. Use your fingers to smooth the paper and make sure all the edges are well adhered. Seal the windows as you did the door. Then top the pumpkin cottage with a roof of silk leaves and/or ferns, using glue dots to hold the ensemble in place.
  5. Now it's time to haunt the cottage. For each ghost, cut two matching shapes out of white paper. Use a glue dot to stick the top of a short length of craft wire to one of the ghosts. Then draw eyes on the matching piece and press it down onto the first one, matching up all the edges.
  6. Station the ghosts around the cottage by tucking the wire ends under a leaf or behind a windowpane. You can even attach one to a yard sign fashioned out of a short stick or strip of wood and a small square of paper.
  7. For the finishing touches, you can set the haunted cottage atop a sheet of floral moss and stack a couple of stone steps below the door, if you like.
When you set up house in a pumpkin like some of the fairies in Pixie Hollow do, it doesn't take much to get into the spirit of Halloween. All you need do is round up a few ghostly guests to hover around the grounds. Using a foam craft pumpkin, you can make a tabletop replica of a phantom-filled fairy house to haunt your own home.

A Fairy Footbridge

A Fairy Footbridge

What you'll need

  • Template for A Fairy Footbridge
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Corrugated cardboard
  • Craft knife
  • Craft or scrapbook paper, stickers, or glitter glue
  • Glue stick or glue dots
  • Marker
  • Toothpick
  • Handful of buttons

How to make it

  1. Print and cut out the template. Trace the template onto corrugated cardboard, and cut out the tracin
  2. Use a craft knife (adults) to cut out the circles, as shown.
  3. Use the craft knife (again, adults only) to score the underside of the cardboard where indicated by the dotted lines on the template.
  4. Fold the bridge floor, as shown, bending it as necessary to form an arch.
  5. Glue the end of the floor in place. Then fold up the sides and glue them to the sides of the floor.
  6. Now your child can decorate the sides of the bridge with colored paper, stickers, or glitter glue.
  7. Cut out ten or so cardboard floor boards (roughly 2½ inches by ½ inch) and have your child glue them in place, as shown.
  8. To create a mini sign, print "Fairies Welcome" on a small cardboard rectangle. Insert a toothpick post through one of the corrugation channels in the sign. For a stand, stack a couple of buttons with the holes lined up. Apply a drop of glue to the bottom of the toothpick and insert it into the buttonholes.
  9. Now your child can set up her fairy bridge with a trail of buttons leading up and over it.
Inspired by the little footbridge that leads Tinker Bell to the fairy house Lizzy builds in Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue, this arched walkway is just the prop to welcome kids into the delightful world of sprites. Cutting out the circular openings and scoring fold lines in the cardboard is best done with a craft knife, making it a job for adults. But kids will have plenty of fun decorating the assembled bridge, constructing the welcome sign, and creating a trail of buttons.

Christmas Crafts

Christmas is right around the corner!!!

Would you like to know some awesome crafts to brighten up your house for the holidays!!! Because now you can with these crafts!!!

Ornament
Snowy Window

What you'll need

  • 3 regular craft sticks
  • 5 mini craft sticks
  • Light blue acrylic paint
  • ½ sheet white felt
  • Snow texture medium (recommended: Snow-Tex)
  • White craft glue
  • 6" length of thin ribbon
  • Paintbrush
  • Pattern
Here's a helpful tip:
Snow texture medium is available from your local discount department store or craft supply store.

Yarn can be used for the hanger instead of ribbon.

The snow medium is best applied in a dabbing motion and by placing blobs onto the surface rather than traditional painting.

How to make it

  1. Line up the three craft sticks next to each other, leaving some space between each one. Lay three mini craft sticks perpendicularly across the regular craft sticks, one at the top, one at the bottom, and one in the middle. Once you have them all lined up, glue them together.
  2. Paint the assembled sticks with blue paint and let dry.
  3. Cut two curtains from the white felt using the pattern.
  4. Turn the assembled sticks over and glue curtains in place.
  5. Loop a piece of ribbon and glue it to the back of the assembled window.
  6. Glue the remaining two mini craft sticks at the top and bottom of the assembled window, over the top of the felt curtains. Let dry.
  7. Turn window face up again and add the snow texture medium to the "windowsills." Let dry for several hours.

Snowflake
 Fan-Tastic Snowflakes

Total Time 1 hour Ages all-ages
Punch a bunch of these simple paper snowflakes, then hang them from your ceiling or fireplace mantel. For a truly frosted-looking flake, use parchment paper or vellum.

What you'll need

  • 8 1/2 by 11-inch sheet of paper
  • Stapler
  • Scissors or pinking shears
  • Hole punch
  • Clear tape

How to make it

  1. Fan-Tastic Snowflakes - Step 1 Fold the paper lengthwise and cut it in half.
  2. Fan-Tastic Snowflakes - Step 2 Starting at one short end, fanfold the paper in 1/2-inch folds. Staple the fan in the middle.
  3. Fan-Tastic Snowflakes - Step 3 Use scissors or pinking shears to trim both ends, then hole-punch a design into the fan?s folds. When you are finished, unfold the fan to create a circle and tape the edges together to secure it.

Stuffed Felt Christmas Tree

Stuffed Felt Christmas Tree

What you'll need

  • 1 sheet green felt
  • 1 miniature craft stick
  • Brown acrylic craft paint
  • Paintbrush
  • 6" green yarn
  • 2 yellow tri-beads
  • Colorful buttons or craft jewels
  • Hot glue gun or needle and thread
  • Cotton batting
  • Scissors
* Tip
Another way to attach the string hanger is to run the yarn through the open felt at the top of the tree before gluing the sides together.

How to make it

  1. Paint half of the craft stick brown on both sides. It's not necessary to paint the whole thing as half of it will be inside the ornament and not visible.
  2. Fold green felt in half like a greeting card. Using the folded edge as the pointed top of the tree, cut out a tree shape.
  3. Glue both sides of the tree together. Stuff the tree with cotton batting, using a paintbrush handle to gently push the batting up into the top of the tree.
  4. Once the tree is full, insert the craft stick, unpainted end first, into the middle of the batting at the center of the tree's bottom. Grasp the felt near the bottom of the tree, holding the stick in place at the same time. Glue the stick to the felt and glue the bottom of the tree shut.
  5. Decorate the outside of the tree with craft jewels or buttons as the ornaments.
  6. Glue the yarn to the top of the tree on both sides, cover with two tri-beads, which will act as the tree's star.
I hope you like these three aweome crafts!!!

Silverware Stocking

These festive, personalized stockings add a playful touch to the holiday dinner table, and make it easier to hang on to everything you need when maneuvering through a buffet line.

Silverware Stocking

What you'll need

  • Stocking template -- draw your own or download ours
  • Scissors
  • Felt
  • Patterned fabric
  • Hot glue or fabric glue
  • Rickrack
  • Beads
  • Beading cord (we used clear plastic cord)

How to make it

  1. Use the template to cut two stocking shapes from the felt, then cut the cuff and toe shapes from the patterned fabric. The cuff is a long rectangle with the two long edges folded under and ironed for a clean look.
  2. Glue the two stocking shapes together at the edges, leaving the top of the stocking open. Fold a 6-inch length of rickrack in half and glue the ends just inside the stocking's top. Glue the cuff and toe in place.
  3. String beads onto the cord. When the string of beads is long enough to form your letter, knot both ends. Draw your letter onto the stocking with glue, then press the string of beads onto it.

Woody's Cowboy Boot Christmas Stocking

Fashioned after Woody's fancy footwear, this felt cowboy boot is the perfect size for Santa to stuff with candies and trinkets.

Woody's Cowboy Boot Christmas Stocking

What you'll need

  • Template for Woody's Cowboy Boot Christmas Stocking
  • Scissors
  • Straight pins (for pinning the template to the felt)
  • Felt (two large sheets of tan, scraps of yellow, scraps of brown)
  • Stiff felt (black)
  • Hot glue gun
  • 4 gold buttons, seeing needle, thread (optional)

  • Download Woody's Cowboy Boot Christmas Stocking Template

How to make it

  1. Print out the template and cut out the pieces. Tape the boot top to the boot bottom, overlapping the pieces by 1/2 inch to create a pattern for the boot. Then use it to cut out two matching boots (one for the front and one for the back) from tan felt. Cut the remaining pieces out of felt as specified on the template pieces.
  2. Arrange the boot front and the sole, as shown, so that the sole extends 1/4 inch below the bottom.
  3. Holding the pieces together, flip them over and glue the sole to the back of the boot front. Now glue the two boot pieces together, matching up all the edges and sandwiching the sole between them. (Note: Because the sole is cut from stiff felt, it helps hold the shape of the boot.)
  4. Glue the heels in place (one to the front and the other to the back), matching up the bottoms with the lower edge of the sole.
  5. Glue the two spur wheels one atop the other to make a single thicker one, and then set it aside. Next, snip two small vertical slits in the round portion of each spur arm and thread a spur strap through them, as shown.
  6. Place one of the spur arm/strap assemblies on the front of the boot so that the vertical strap falls right in front of the heel and the end of the arm extends a bit beyond the boot.
  7. Glue the pieces in place, folding the straps around to the back of the boot. Glue the remaining arm/strap to the back of the boot. This time, trim the ends instead of wrapping them around to the front. Now glue the extended portion of the spur arms together, sandwiching the spur wheel between them.
  8. Create a top loop for each side of the boot by stacking and gluing together the two layers.
  9. Fold the loops in half, sandwiching the boot tops between the ends, and glue them in place, as shown.

*Crafting with Duct Tape*

Crafting with Duct Tape

How to make a duct tape wallet

Directions

Step 1

Make a duct tape sheet that is 7 inches long by four strips wide:
·         Cut a strip of duct tape that measures 7 inches and lay it sticky side up on your work surface.
·         Roll out and cut another strip of duct tape to the same length.
·         Place the second 7-inch strip sticky side up so it slightly overlaps the edge of the first strip.
·         Repeat until you have four strips overlapping.
·         Turn the sheet so the strips run vertically.
·         Cut a strip to lay across the sticky-side-up strips. Start at the top and work your way down. These strips get placed sticky side down. Add another strip below the last one. Remember to overlap the edges.
·         Continue laying strips sticky side down until all of the sticky sides of the “bottom” strips are covered.
·         Trim off edges.

Step 2

Fold the sheet in half so you have a rectangle.

Step 3

Use a piece of tape about 4 inches long to seal the edge on one of the short sides of the rectangle. Trim off the extra tape.

Step 4

Fold the wallet in half so the short sides line up. Note: Do this before taping the other side so that the wallet will fold without bulges.

Step 5

Keep the wallet in the folded position, trim any excess, and tape the other side.
