Fun Crafts

As soon as I saw these necklaces I thought of one of my favorite things, Mermaids!!!

Rock Necklaces

Rock Necklaces

About 1 Hour

A variation on the age-old nature necklace, these wire-wrapped pendants are fun for kids to trade. Some girls paint their names on one side and their best friend's on the other, and wear them as a proclamation of their unbreakable bond.
Materials
  • A small rock
  • Colored wire (we used 22-gauge)
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Colored leather cord

StepsRock Necklaces - Step 1 Place the rock at the center of a 15-inch-long piece of wire and wrap the wire around the rock a few times to secure it.
  1. Twist together the ends, then wrap the twist around a pencil to form a loop. Use pliers to close the loop, then cut off any excess wire.
  2. To finish, thread a necklace-length piece of leather cord through the loop and knot the ends.

Hello, Since Kel was the winner of my Craft Contest, And she wanted to know a fun craft that you could make with beads, I found this for her :)

Bead Ornaments

If you want to have fun during the holidays with a cheery, fun craft. Then Hopefully you will like this idea

Materials
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Transparent craft beads (5- to 10-millimeter diameters)
Steps

  •      Bend an end of a pipe cleaner into a 90-degree angle. Have your child thread on beads from the opposite end, stopping a half inch from the tip.
    1. Twist together the two ends, and the strand is ready to shape into a star, a candy cane, or another festive object.

  • Variations:
  • Twist together the ends of two pipe cleaners for a longer strand, or attach short beaded lengths to add a striker to a bell or holly berries to a wreath.
(I found this awesome craft on FamilyFun.com)

We also had a second winner!!!
Crystal
!!!

Materials

  • Pieces of colorful fabric or scarves -- anything shiny, silky, or draping
Steps

Bring out a few pieces of colorful fabric or scarves -- anything shiny, silky, or draping -- and let her twirl them around as she moves.
  1. You can use the fabric for a dancing game of peekaboo, hold some up for a makeshift curtain, or tie it on for a swinging skirt. Try holding two corners each and wave the fabric like a parachute, in time to the music.
  2. If your child's pretty steady on her feet, hold one corner each and let your child spin toward you into the fabric, then pull it to send her twirling away again.

Creative Corner

Hello, In the creative corner, I will start off a story and then the next person that replies to it will continue the story, and then I will. And whoever would like to join in can :) But please write a short reply, nothing more than three sentences. Have fun and be Creative, Remember, it is the Creative Corner.

Our first story

Once there was a little Elephant! It was one CENTIMETER! The elephant was very small, but it was also very spacial. EVERYBODY LOVED HIM! There was even had a movie named after the elephant! "The Tinsey-Winsey Elephant With a Colossal Heart!" He was very happy, but soon everyone wanted to get his autograph and he had so much to do.
The elephant loved being famous, although, he didn't want to always be signing his autograph. So one day he ran to a secret place and wasn't seen again! After many years, hunters wanted to find elephants to eat! And when the tiny elephant heard the bad news, he was furious! He was wondering what he should do to save himself and all of the other elephants.

The tiny elephants profile :)

Hi, I am Peanut. People find me quite small, well I am only a centimeter tall and wide. Which is pretty special I guess. There was even a movie made after me! But I'm not the only special one, my mother was a very good swimmer!
She won many swimming races and she was very talented. and here is my dad
he is a model! With his job he travels a lot, so we don't see him too much. I love my family.

*Acting Tips* Contest!!!

Contest!!!

Hello!!! For this contest, I am looking for someone with a good acting tip to add to my Acting Tips Post.

Please leave a comment before next Saturday October 13, 2012

*Acting Tips*

Hello!!! If you are looking for a few tips on good acting, then hopefully you will find this post helpful :)

While you are acting, some things that you could do to do better acting are:

  1. Try to memorize your paper. So that while you are practicing your lines you won't have to look at them as much, and to me it looks more professional.
  2. Try not to say your lines chopped up like for example, say that your line is: Hello Mr. Mail man, how are you today??? Do not say something like: Ummm, He-llo, Mr. Mail...man, how.. are.. you today???
Here is another awesome and helpful Acting Tip by my contest winner Crystal!!!

"Play acting games for example: Someone calls out a kind of person like an old king or something like that and then you have to start acting like an old king."

(Thank you again Crystal)

I think that acting tip is very helpful to use if you are trying to learn and memorize your lines for your script.

Staying Fit With Phia

Hi all of my fellow followers! If you are looking for ways to stay fit, then this post is for you!!!

So, some ways that you can stay in shape are:

Exercising daily
     And
Eating right
Exercises

Some good exercises that you could do are stretches, push ups, sit ups, and much more.

Stretches

Here are Some really good stretches for your legs.

  • For this stretch you will sit on the floor and spread your legs apart. Then you will lean to one side and reach for your toes. You could try to stay in that position for about 10 seconds. Once the 10 seconds are up, lean to the other side and do the same thing. After that you should lean forward in between your legs for another 10 seconds.

If you are looking for a stretch for your legs and torso muscles, then you'll probably like this stretch.

  • First, stand up, and then spread your legs apart.
  • Next, lean to one side with your torso in an arch-like shape. First with your finger pointing up, and then over towards your toes.
  • While you are in the arch-like shape, bend over and reach for your toes for about 10 seconds.
  • Do the same thing while leaning to each foot for about 10 seconds.
  • Once you are finished bending over to your feet, bend in between your feet and try to touch the floor.
Here is a quick and fun stretch for your arms.
  1. First, put one arm out straight in front of you.
  2. With the arm that is out in front of you, bring it across your chest.
  3. Then, use your free arm for then next step. Reach out your arm straight out and make an L shape with it. once you have done that, then pull for about 10-15 seconds.
  4. Once you have done that, you switch arms and do exactly the same, but with the other arm. Both arms switch turns.

Push ups

If you are new to push ups, then you should start out slowly and only do about 5 to start off.

Sit ups

When you are doing sit ups, I think that it is easier when someone is holding onto your feet.
